Well, I'm always mentioning my love for sour cream, so I decided it was about time I made a post about that.
Is it just me, or does every sandwich shop out there deliberately LACK sour cream? Go anywhere - Subway, Quiznos, Erbert and Gerbert's, Jimmy John's - I don't believe they even HAVE sour cream. No one knows how excellent sour cream tastes on a sandwich! Actually, I'm wrong. I forgot for a moment there that tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc., are really just Mexican sandwiches. Taco Bell, Chipotle, Qdoba, Taco John's; they're essentially Mexican sandwich shops. And they understand the virtues of sour cream! Good for them. But other sandwich shops have yet to realize the importance of having sour cream on hand! There is NO sandwich that sour cream cannot improve. Grilled cheese, PBJ, any meat sandwich...the list stretches on into infinity.
I mourn the lack of sour cream at all my favorite sandwich shops. I suppose I COULD order my sandwich from Potbelly (my family calls it "Po'Bays" because that's how it would be pronounced in French) or Subway, etc. Then I could take it to a Mexican restaurant/sandwich shop, order just a side of sour cream, and add it to my sandwich myself. But that's so hassle-some. And I'm sure the workers would not appreciate that. Nor would my fellow customers. Sigh. It's tough being the only person out there who loves sour cream this much. However, a lot of sandwich shops are starting to serve soup, too. Soup and Sandwiches. Classic. I applaud them. But, that's good, because it also includes chili. What do you put in chili? Sour cream! There is hope for me yet.
